Here are some things that I’d suggest:

Learn a foreign language or if you’re Indian, learn a language of any other state.
Learn to cook. This’ll fetch you a lot in the future.
Learn to ride a 2 wheeler and a car.
Learn swimming. It’s an important thing to learn as it can save your life too.
Learn and practice some DIY tricks for everyday life. It can be found aplenty on the internet.
Learn and practice Yoga and meditation. It’s very beneficial for health.
Learn some self defence techniques.

I’ve listed out stuff that I feel might be useful in the long run too. Most might even save your life or others’ lives so it’s good to know those. I’ll definitely add some more if I get any better ideas.

There are so many things that you can learn in the summer vacation only if you want to like swimming, driving, cooking, etc.

Don’t know about everyone, but I can share my experience. In these vacations, I always try new things that may be avoided due to lack of time. for example in this last vacation, I tried for Yoga… And this is a very peaceful and healthy exercise I had ever experienced. Now, this has become a daily routine for me and I love doing yoga now.

Well if you want to learn a useful thing i.e which may help you in your future as well is learning a different language.

Spanish, French, Urdu etc. Its interesting actually. Plus there are many online websites active to teach the same. (eg: Duolingo)

What is the best way to utilize summer vacations for kids?

First of all thanks for the request and sorry for being late… and I am assuming they are between 6 to 12 years old.
Okay…. Join your kids into a class or something only if they ask you so,because they wanted to enjoy summer time for themselves in home and when you put them in classes they would actually won’t trust you very much in future. But you can still them stuff in you home cause in home there is trust and no new classes for them which gets them anxious!
Teach simple skills like cleaning the home ,whilst doing so don’t just sit and order them, they feel it as punishment. So just do with them a few times and give them tips, don’t overteach the skill give them some spaces for creativity.
Let them join in some basic decision making like should we buy this or that. Or to decide where to go simple like that. Don’t decide which school they wanted to go without them. If you don’t start now later they will depend mostly on you.
Teach them how to select vegetables, furniture, and etc. Let it be simple so if one day in future if you ask for tomato they won’t get all the rotten ones!!
Read them story books, sing with them and if they don’t like it it’s okay. And try to buy some watercolour paint and let them mix colours it boost their creativity when they themselves find new colours.
Talk to them about your personal, financial lifestyle if you are always very upright to your child then they think their is no problems in their family and you buy some best things so they can enjoy just a little. Just tell them if your paying loans, bad debts ,emi and etc. Kids are very understanding, they will understand your situation and will not pester you to buy fancy stuff. And ask for their promise and tell that you trust them with your personal issues, they will agree with you.
Most importantly, kids are like moldable clay, you just help them to mold, so whatever you treat them they will be that. Don’t always say they can’t join discusses because they are kids, let them be a little responsible.
Don’t except a lot of grades just let them experience many things themselves, make them have clean and healthy habits, be confident to stand up even after failures.

There’s nothing as relaxing as summer vacations. Rather than wasting it, always make sure you make the best out of it.

There are a wide variety of courses that you can take up during your summer vacation. first of all, you need to think about what you want to do during the vacation. Below are some courses that can help you. These are as:

Go for programming classes: If you are interested in applications and computers and want to make some really cool applications, games or websites then, go for programming classes. this will help you a lot during college and also throughout your lifetime. You can always earn some money with the programming skills you gain.
Hobby Classes: Is dancing, singing, swimming or painting your hobby? Or are you simply interested in performing some cool steps in parties or singing a melodious song? Then, join a hobby class of your choice. You can go, dancing classes, singing classes, cooking classes, swimming, or painting classes.
Graphics designing: Graphics designing is a new trend and also a never-ending demand. With graphics designing, you can make an application or a website look eye-catchy and real. There is a huge demand for some really good graphics designers in the market. You can always earn money with your graphic designing skills, even if you are studying.
Communication classes: In this competitive world, it is highly important to be a good communicator. So, if you think, you need to have good communication skill, then enroll yourself into the same.
Brushing up the course: Apart from these, you can enroll in coaching institutes where your course subjects are taught. By this way, you can work on your grey areas and make yourself comfortable with the concepts.
